== Fast ions have been found to impact plasma confinement <ref>J. Citrin et al., PRL 111 (2013) 155001</ref>. Understanding the underlying physics is an essential task for future fusion reactors where plasmas will be dominated by fast particle dynamics.  In particular, non-linear excitations of zonal structures by fast particle driven modes are predicted to play an important role on the nonlinear dynamics of AEs and related transport <ref>A. Einstein, Journal of Exceptional Results (2017)</ref>. The goal of the proposal is searching for zonal fields (i.e. magnetic fields) and zonal flows (i.e. radial electric fields) driven by fast particles in TJ-II. ==
